Alex so your perceived wisdom is to play a bunch of kids, not good enough and not ready for PL football, to massage your own ego, based on nothing other than a presumption that these kids can cut it at the top level
When was the last time you saw them in training or the last youth team game you went to, how many of the loanees have you gone to see play, who should be playing or given a chance that hasn't already?
Truth is you haven't a clue, you used to wax lyrical about Aresenal's youth system when the media used to wank themselves off over it, even though they've bought no top tier players through for years, you used to wank yourself off over Swansea & Saints and their process off playing kids and either selling or keeping them, how has that worked for them?
But the biggest pile of wank you've come out with in recent time is your boast that we should never have signed Diop or Anderson as we paid way over the odds for them, as someone that actually goes to games I'm glad we did as it's worth the ticket money alone watching Anderson, I also know who's the biggest fake out of you or Pellegrini, one has managed at the highest level and know's a player, the other is confused by his own vanity

You’d want Zabaleta as a back up even if someone younger is taking the shirt.
You sense he is also the sort of good EGG you want around the group as a role model compared to sulky divs like Arnautovic

Yeah, Fredericks had a shocker in that regard. Maybe it was just nerves. Anyway, its probably fixable with enough drilling.
Zab will have to start for the foreseeable future, though. It's amazing what a difference he can make to the team even from right back.

the main reason was Fredericks kept playing them onside when everyone else pushed up.. he needs to learn that, had a reasonable game otherwise.
palace battered us 2nd half we need lanzinii back to get us passing better

But for absymal finishing Palace could have scored 6
Can’t recall a game where so many players had the ball completely unmarked in front of our goal since we last played Man City.
We seemed to lose their players at will

I bow to the clever strategy at the club. We buy at the highest price, wait until these players are at their lowest ebb and worth the least, and then sell to make the greatest loss possible.
Why not just literally burn tens of millions on the pitch each season? At least we could laugh about it then? Make it fancy dress?

We also changed shape in the last two games - long overdue imo. That's why we look somewhat better defensively. Extra cover and less pressure on full backs, more flexible support generally. We can make mistakes without it always resulting in a goalscoring chance.
Still a long way to go of course. Delighted for Fredericks, one of the few players I see a future with beyond the Summer. Unfortunately we're stuck with a squad where there's just nowhere further to go with so many of the players. It is what it is.

V, I said we were lucky to hold out. But you need luck as well as skill in every single game - As proven against Liverpool, bad luck cost us 3 points.
I think you're over critical of our defense, I agree without Balbuena we are a little more vulnerable as Ogbonna is prone to a lot of mistakes.
However with Cresswell and Fredericks (who I think has done excellent teh last two games) have got better, Diop is going to be an excellent defender as well.
We need improvement of course, but I don't think we're as bad as you may think.
